Interactive Storytelling
One story
that I think would be fun to add some interactivity into would be the three
little pigs. We all know this story from our childhood and I think by letting
the audience interact in this classic tale would really entertain anyone! One way
in which I think I would add interactivity is when the pigs each build their
own house, one out of sticks, one out of straw, and the smartest out of bricks.
In this situation, the user could build the houses themselves, designing the
overall size along with the interior and exterior of the house. The user could
pick the furniture to go inside the house and also the color of the house.
Another way in which users would be able to interact in this story would be
when the wolf attempts to knock down the houses. The user could pick out a
variety of tools to accomplish his goal of knocking down the poor pigs’ houses.
These tools could range from a leaf blower to a jackhammer! This could affect
the story in the way that the wolf could actually prevail and capture the pigs
for supper if the user uses the tools necessary. The last thing I would do to
the tale of the Three Little Pigs would make a defensive interactive scenario
in which the pigs could fortify their houses and fight back against the evil
wolf! This could range from the pigs using barriers, bows and arrows, or maybe
even guns. Overall I think that these interactive changes would make for an
enjoyable experience of reliving a favorite childhood tale for all.
